Nicky Page 5
Then he pushed into her tight core. Her walls closed around him and he couldn’t believe how good it felt. He reached the point of no return and he covered her mouth with his own and pushed through.
Serenity whimpered as he tore through her claim of innocence but the pain was gone almost at once. She groaned and arched her hips pulling him in all the way.
Nicky groaned and pushed the rest of the way. Once he was fully seated, he hissed in pleasure. Her walls were tight and he felt her rippling around him. It felt to him like she was made just for him.
“You feel so good.” She moaned. “You fill me up.”
“I’ll keep you filled up,” he vowed as he began to move. Pulling out and pushing back in, he began establishing a gentle rhythm. He intended to do this right, then she cheated and tightened her hold on him, whispering, “More, I need more.”
Nicky closed his eyes and began thrusting harder and deeper. Serenity panted wildly and wrapped her legs around his waist, thus opening her body for him. His lips settled on a spot on her neck where he could feel the blood rushing through her veins. There was something about her that made him lose control and he was loving it. He was feeling the pressure building inside his body and he knew he had to get her off before he blew.
Reaching down, he found her clit and he thumbed it once and then again. Serenity cried out and flooded his cock with her juices triggering Nicky’s release. Throwing his head back, he strained as he pumped her full with his essence.
He then stared down into her pale silver eyes. “You are so...You are the most preciously beautiful person I have ever been with.” He then rolled off her when he got his breath back and gathered her into his arms. “An that was possibly the best thing to happen in my life,” he whispered in her ear.
Serenity lay there in total astonishment. The words he’d spoken to her. She never believed in all her life that anyone would ever say those kinds of things to her. Tears welled in her eyes. To be accepted and cared for, genuinely cared for... She fought her tears as she tried not to show just how profoundly, he and his words affected her. “I know it was the best thing in my life,” she whispered back, not knowing how else to respond to such an incredible statement.
Nicky groaned as his stomach growled, protesting its emptiness. “I’d better go get us some food and you some clothes huh?”
“Food would be nice, clothing is optional,” she hinted with a smile. She paused as she realized she’d just flirted with him. She’d never flirted before either, let alone sleep with a man. It was all too much to take in.
Nicky grumbled as he turned her toward him and smashed his mouth down on hers. Before the kiss could led to other options, he hauled himself out of bed. Grabbing his clean clothes, he dressed and before he left her, leaned over the bed and kissed her again. “I’ll be back,” he promised. With that, he turned and walked out of the room.
Serenity laid there staring at the ceiling, wondering how she’d met such an amazing guy. She couldn’t believe she’d gotten so lucky. The chance she took when she reached out to him could have ended so badly and she thought it had but he came through for her in the end. Then what all he’d said and done? It was all like a dream to her, one she had never dared to have in her life before this.
But as much as she wanted to keep him to herself she knew she couldn’t be that selfish. He had what she’d wanted all her life, a family. Even if his father hated her, she couldn’t take Nicky away from him. She didn’t know his story but he had an unbreakable tie to the other man.
As she laid there... the feelings she felt just moments before began to go away as reality came crashing in. They went from the best thing in her life to the realization she had to let him go and she began to weep.
Chapter Five
When Nicky got back with his purchases, he felt on top of the world. He had a pang of regret about leaving his father behind but he couldn’t go back to the man who tried to destroy the woman he loved. That caused Nicky to pause and think about it.
Did he love her? He thought about it and decided that he did indeed love her. It was crazy to suppose this but I the idea wouldn’t go away. His background and hers were so similar and he thought he knew what she had lived through. That they had found each other somewhere in the middle of this mess was a miracle and it was one he didn’t want to lose.
He was a good hacker but Serenity was a master. She didn’t have to reach out to him the way she had. She didn’t have to ask for his help and she didn’t have to safeguard his father’s money or business information, but she had.
As harsh as her life had been, she still knew the difference between right and wrong. She’d chosen to do the right thing and that had mattered to him, even if his father hadn’t seen it. Nicky did. Now he had to protect her.
He had registered under his old name Cassini as he felt he no longer had the right to be a Silvanic nor did he feel like he could assume that name now. He knew he should call Raven but again, he didn’t want to drag her into this tiff. But even if he couldn’t drag her into the mess, he should let her know he was all right. She would be so mad if she thought he was out in the world without any protection.
When he opened the door to his room, he found Serenity still laying on the bed but now she was shaking as she sobbed. Nicky kicked the door shut, turned the lock and dropped his packages as he rushed over to the bed.
Reaching down, he gathered her in his arms and hugged her close. “What’s wrong? Why are you crying?”
Serenity looked up at him with tears in her eyes. “I can’t do this!” She blubbered. “I can’t take you away from your father. You have something with him that I can only dream about and I can’t take that away from either of you. I just can’t. I care about you too much to make you choose between him or me.”
Nicky hugged her tighter. “There isn’t a choice to be made. He wouldn’t even listen to reason about you. I grew up not knowing even who the man was or what he did for a living. My sister Raven raised me on the streets then a little over a year and a half ago, she found him and she hooked us up.” He titled her chin up to his. “He’s my father and I’m glad I got to know him but I think in the long run you are going to come to mean more to me than he ever would.”
Serenity lifted her finger to cover his mouth. “Please don’t say that. This is too important, he is too important to you and I will not come between the two of you. He’s your family and I’ve wanted a family to call my own all my life. When I was born, my mother took one look at me and abandoned me then and there. She told the nuns to take me away and drown me for all she cared. She couldn’t love me for who I was because I was so different. Well, I didn’t ask to be born a freak. I didn’t ask to be born at all. You’re the only one who has ever looked at me with anything but scorn in your eyes and for that, I will always remember you.”
“That sounds like a goodbye.” Nicky gritted between his teeth.
“It doesn’t have to be,” she whispered.
“It better not be,” he warned her. “I want you in my life and if my father can’t see that then that’s his business. I’m not giving up the best thing that ever happened to me because he disapproves.”
Staring at him as if she couldn’t believe what he was saying, she asked, “Then what are we going to do? Your father will never accept me.”
“There is one way he’ll accept you.” Nicky nodded.
“How?”
“If you and I are married. He’ll have to accept you.” Nicky growled.
Serenity looked shocked. “Married?’ she whispered. “Why would you want to marry me? We only just met.” She pointed out.
Nicky looked down at her and smiled. “I think I knew you were the one for men the moment I laid eyes on you. So what’s the problem?”
“I don’t know... don’t you need, like a birth certificate or something to get the license?” she looked down at her hands.
“Where were you born?” he asked.
“In a small town here in New Yo
rk.” She looked around the room. “Are we still in New York?”
Nicky smiled. “Yes, we’re still in New York. If you were born here, your birth certificate has to be recorded somewhere. Maybe we can find it online?”
Serenity shrugged. “We can try. I went to get it before I left, but it was missing in the file I took. I was only fourteen when I left the Church.”
Nicky stared at her in shock. “You’ve been on your own since you were fourteen?”
Serenity stared at him as she nodded her head. It was time to tell him her deepest darkest secret and she didn’t know if she could or not. “I told you Z was my boogey man right?”
Nicky nodded.
“What I didn’t tell you was that he is only one of them. I have another one and he’s spent the last seven years looking for me only to keep the secret of my birth from the whole world. You see this man can’t let the world know about me. I’m his family’s darkest secret. I was born out of wedlock to a teen mother who took one look at me and freaked out. She knew I would never be accepted for who I was or what I am. He is a powerful wealthy man and he will never accept me but he will kill me. His name was in the file and the nuns had written some report too. This is what they’d said that my mother had babbled about when she was in labor. That I wouldn’t be safe anyway so they might as well kill me.”
“How do you know he will try to kill you though?” Nicky asked.
“He’s already tried twice. He found me twice now and both times he tried to kill me.”
“Who is this man?” Nicky demanded.
“I can’t even say his name.” She shook her head. “And its best you don’t know, but I can’t be out in the open or let myself be exposed. As long as I’m alive, he will keep coming after me.”
“I don’t care about any of that but I do care very much about you. I will always protect you and as my wife, you will have Bratva protection as well. If my father doesn’t see to it, then my sister Raven will.”
Reaching out, she touched his jaw, “Are you sure this is really what you want? Marriage is forever you know?”
Nicky smiled gently. “I know and I only plan to do this once in my life. And yes, I do want this. I want more of what we had this morning and I want it for the rest of my life. I want you till the end of time.”
Serenity paused. “You’re really serious about this?” Her frown turned to a grin. “Oh, I so want this too.”
“Then marry me, Moy Svet,” Nicky urged.
“Moy s... what?” She trailed off in confusion.
He chuckled. “It’s Russian. It means... my light. You are my light, Serenity. So will you marry me?”
With disbelief in all this but wanting it so badly, she blurted out, “Ok, I’ll marry you.”
“Then let’s do this woman.” Nicky slapped her on the ass. “I want you tied to me now rather than later.”
Serenity jumped at the slap but smiled. Maybe her dreams would come true with Nicky beside her.
Two hours later, they returned to the hotel. She had found her real birth certificate online and downloaded it along with his. Then they had gone to a justice of the peace and took their vows. Now in the eyes of the world and God... they were husband and wife.
Serenity didn’t think it was real yet. Her mind was in a whirlwind. She couldn’t believe he was willing to offer her real protection against both the men in her life that wanted to see her dead. Or should she say three men? His own father wouldn’t be happy they were married. This bothered her almost more than the other two threats. She never wanted him to lose a parent, as she’d never had any.
Nicky wanted to make their wedding night a celebration of sorts but Serenity told him quietly that all she really needed or wanted was time alone with him.
He carried her over the threshold of the motel room and processed to bang her head on the doorframe. He laughed at her when she growled at him then he made her gasp when he kissed her silly.
Putting her down on the floor he wrapped his arms around her and held her tight. “I love you Mrs. Silvanic,” he whispered in her ear. And I will till—”
“—the end of time?” Serenity shivered at his words. “I love you Mr. Silvanic. More than you’ll ever know.”
He stared at her for a moment and stroked her cheek with his finger. Then he glanced over at the food bags sitting on the table behind them and chuckled. “Of all the food joints out there, you choose Burger King? Why on earth is that?”
Serenity shook her head. “I haven’t had a Whopper in years. I had one years ago and I just got hungry for it again. We could have had something else you know.”
Nicky nodded. “I know but tonight is your night and I’m happy with Burger King.”
“We may not have a lot but I kinda like what we do have together.” She hugged him closer.
“Let’s eat then because I’m hungry for something more than food.” He wiggled his eyebrows at her.
Serenity laughed and backed away from him. “Well then, let’s get this show on the road. Let’s fill our belly’s then we can fill our souls.”
Nicky laid there wide awake after they were supposed to be sleeping. Looking down at Serenity, he knew what he had to do. He knew he couldn’t run, he had to go back and face his father. She didn’t want him to lose what family he had. She wouldn’t let him run.
He unwrapped her from his embrace and got up to go to the bathroom. Grabbing his phone on the way, he placed a call to his sister.
“Hello,” Raven answered first ring.
“Hey sis.”
“Oh thank god! I have been waiting for you to call! Are you all right?” she demanded.
“Yeah I’m fine.”
“Where are you?” she demanded. “Nikoli is worried sick. Not to mention me.”
“Don’t worry about me. No one knows where we are.”
“We?” Raven questioned. “Who is we?”
“Serenity and me is the ‘we’,” Nicky told her. Hesitating, he added softly, “We got married today.”
There was a long moment of silence on Raven’s end of the call, then she asked, “Do you love her little brother?”
“With all my heart,” he answered immediately.
“Then I’m happy for you,” she told him without pause. “Of course Nikoli will probably kill you when he finds you.”
“Yeah I know, but it’s done now and I will not give her up,” Nicky stated with conviction.
“You can come down here if he doesn’t accept her,” she offered.
“Thanks for that. But she won’t let me run away from him. She said she would never make me chose between the two of them.”
“What are you going to do now?” Raven finally asked.
“She thinks we should go back and set this right.” He sighed. “So I guess we’re going back.”
“You guys be careful out on the road,” Raven warned him. “Nikoli called my grandfather to tell him about Zhora Sayanovick. He sounds like a man who would kill you just because he can.”
“Yeah, he would. He would do it to destroy Nikoli. He would kill Serenity knowing it would destroy me too.”
“You need to call Nikoli and get an escort back from wherever you are at the moment. Do not take a chance this bastard will find you first,” Raven urged.
Nicky sighed deep again. “I’m not really sure I’m ready to talk to him right now.”
“Please don’t take any chances with your lives,” she begged him. “I’m not willing to take the chance of losing you. Not in this lifetime. No matter what, you are still my little brother and I love you.”
Nicky closed his eyes at her words. “I love you too big sister. I’ll call him in the morning, I promise.”
“Be safe tonight little brother,” Raven whispered.
“I will.” He ended the call and sat there for a moment. He had a lot to consider. The bathroom door opened quietly and the biggest reason he had to consider was standing there.
He opened his arms and she came into them. Without
a word, she held him close. “I called my sister to let her know I was safe. She thinks we should call Nikoli and get some protection to get back to New York. Are you okay with going back?”
Serenity leaned back in his arms and nodded. “We do have to go back. It is the right thing to do. It just scary is all.”
“Yes, I think we should too...We have to put an end to at least one of your boogey men.”
Serenity shuddered, “And the other one? Maybe two?”
“We deal with one at a time. But know this, you aren’t alone anymore because I’m with you, all the way. You are my wife. My Moy Svet and I got your back.”
Serenity smiled. Leaning in to his embrace she kissed his lips softly. “And I got yours too, husband.”
Chapter Six
It was barely dawn when a heavy pounding on the door woke Nicky. He scrambled out of bed and threw some jeans on. Motioning Serenity to go into the bathroom and wait, he grabbed a gun he had hidden in his luggage and approached the door cautiously.
Peeping through the peep hole, he sagged in relief. Reaching for the door chain, he opened the door to reveal Kirill and two other members of his father’s security team standing behind him, on the other side.
Nicky narrowed his eyes at the other men standing there, then without a word, he stood back and allowed them into the room. “How did you find me?”
Kirill snorted. “We tapped your phone. When you called Raven, we were able to track your location.”
Nicky snarled but didn’t say anything. He grabbed some clothes for both him and Serenity and went into the bathroom. Closing the door behind him, he handed her the clothing. “Well, we got our escort back to the city.”
Serenity accepted the clothes and got dressed. When she was done, she reached out and took his hand.
Nicky opened the door and together, they walked out into the main room.
The three men standing there looked away from her and Serenity tried not to let their action hurt her.
